The improvement of the Tshelingore-Khothakpa SNH (Ch. 21+000 – Ch. 32+100) under Package III aims to rehabilitate and upgrade a 11.1 km stretch of road to enhance safety, durability, and user comfort. The work includes pavement rehabilitation, earthworks, drainage improvements, and utility coordination. Upon completion, the project will improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and support socio-economic development in the region while ensuring minimal environmental impact and adherence to safety standards.
The improvement works along Tshelingore-Khothakpa SNH face challenges such as uneven terrain, weak subgrade, and existing pavement deterioration that may require extensive earthworks, stabilization, and rehabilitation. Adverse weather conditions, particularly heavy rainfall, can disrupt construction and affect pavement quality. Limited access to construction materials, logistical constraints, and traffic management along the operational road stretch are additional challenges. Coordination with utilities and minimizing environmental and social impacts are critical for smooth execution.
Challenges can be addressed through thorough site investigation, pavement and subgrade stabilization, and scheduling construction during favorable weather conditions. Early procurement of quality materials and efficient logistics will help maintain timelines. Traffic management plans, utility coordination, and strict environmental protection measures, such as dust control, erosion prevention, and noise mitigation, will reduce disruptions. Continuous supervision, monitoring, and cost control will ensure timely and quality completion.
Ensures durable, smooth, and safe road conditions.
Prevents erosion, waterlogging, and long-term pavement damage.
Maintains safe and uninterrupted road usage during construction.
Implements dust, noise, and erosion control along the road.
